Do you engage in social media marketing? Social media sites are great places to generate leads and to brand you as a leader. It is a place to add value to your audience and market your business. I was listening to Katie Freiling (http://katiefreiling.com) and she was sharing on how she uses social media to market her business and I thought to share it with you. She talked on the biggest mistakes on social media and the social media marketing action plan. These are listed below:

- Selling or pitching without building relationship and adding value.
- Having no blog
- Not being consistent in giving good content
- Not having targeted following
- Not having a strategy and not having an organised social media
6 step social media marketing action plan
- Choose your brand and get a blog
- Add targeted followers at the media sites.
- Create value based content at least 1-3 times a week
- Market your post at the media sites and tell your followers to share it.
- Make sure you grow your relationship with your emailing list
- Grow your income list
These are steps that need to be followed if you want to reap fruits from social media. Having a blog will market you as a leader. You can drive your social media followers to your blog where they will get more value based content. They will get to know you better and will even buy some of the things you will be selling on your blog. The things you sell on your blog enable you to make money from those who may not join your primary business.
